James Taylor

Decision Management Solutions is led by James Taylor, one of the leading experts in decision management. James has over 20 years experience in developing software and is the foremost thinker and writer on decision management. In addition, Decision Management Solutions has an extensive network of industry and implementation partners.

James was previously a Vice President at Fair Isaac Corporation where he developed and refined the concept of decision management. The best known proponent of the approach, James helped create the emerging Decision Management market and is a passionate advocate of decision management. James is also an experienced keynote speaker.

James has experience in all aspects of the design, development, marketing and use of advanced technology including CASE tools, project planning and methodology tools as well as platform development in PeopleSoft’s R&D team and consulting with Ernst and Young. He has consistently worked to develop approaches, tools and platforms that others can use to build more effective information systems.

In addition to consulting, James writes a popular blog (JT on EDM) and his articles appear in industry magazines and on popular websites. James also delivers webinars, workshops and training. He is a regular keynote speaker at conferences such as ComputerWorld BI & Analytics Perspectives, Business Rules Forum, Predictive Analytics World and IBM's Business Analytics Forum. James is the author of the upcoming book “Decision Management Systems: A Practical Guide to Business Rules and Predictive Analytics” (IBMPress) and was lead author of “Smart (Enough) Systems: How to Deliver Competitive Advantage by Automating Hidden Decisions” (Prentice Hall, 2007) with Neil Raden. He has contributed chapters to multiple books including “Applying Real-World BPM in an SAP Environment,” "The Decision Model," "The Business Rules Revolution: Doing Business The Right Way" and "Business Intelligence Implementation: Issues and Perspectives." James is a faculty member of the International Institute for Analytics.
